Purpose, boundaries and contributing without over-functioning
Greenville’s community park is built around shared use: paths, lawns, gathering areas and people moving in different directions without one person running the whole scene. Responsibility travels naturally through the space. Contribution can still matter while a task changes hands, another person learns the routine and the reliable helper remains present without becoming indispensable.
Contributing without carrying everything
One task, one handover and room to receive care keep contribution meaningful without disappearance: a sign-up sheet, assumed family-care role and younger volunteer reveal how service can swallow identity.
